Domaine des Celtis

Regulated by the AOP Languedoc Pézenas appellation, Domaine des Celtis sits close to the namesake town Pézenas, also known as the city of Molière. The Domaine was acquired and has become part of the Blanville family since 2018, adding to our range another series of beautiful terroir wines and furthering our effort in bringing out the diversity and complexity of the Languedoc terroir.

The vineyards have a 8-hectares spread on clay-limestone sol, where we grow Syrah, Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, and Chardonnay.

« Celtis » means hackberry trees in the Latin language. These majestic and luxuriant trees
are the typicality of the Pézenas region, and especially widespread in the appellation of the
same name.

Cultivation and winemaking methods practiced at Domaine des Celtis are part of the continuity of practices that have always been promoted by Blanville : sustainable viticulture, respect of biodiversity, long maceration and ageing on the lees. As for the ageing, it is carried out in vats to preserve the freshness of the aromas while bringing a beautiful complexity to these two cuvées which can be enjoyed young.

Plot selection operated by Blanville in the Languedoc Pézenas appellation continues, and new wines from Domaine des Celtis could see the light in the coming years.
